Government Auctions - How to Out-eBay Long Time eBayers

Selling merchandise on eBay is one of the original and perhaps most effective ways to sell goods and develop a rewarding work from home business. Profiting this way use to be straight forward, however, lately eBay has been increasingly competitive with sellers, making it difficult to source items that are unique and cheap enough so that you can make a good profit. When you use an online supplier, you are at a competitive disadvantage among eBayer's, because many receive quantity discounted pricing on merchandise that you would have to compete against.

Let me suggest a method that would allow you to make greater profit margins then veteran eBayers. There are millions of items that the government acquires through various means such as repossessed items, defaulted taxes, unclaimed items, government surplus and bankruptcies, that they don't want to keep in inventory. These items are offered either live at a local US or Canada government auction or online from a government web site. Because the government has a zero cost basis for these goods, they aren't concerned about selling at high markups like a wholesaler is, so you can purchase merchandise for far less then what they are worth.

By buying items that are sold at government auctions you are getting deeply discounted distinctive merchandise. Government auctions provide a broad range of items that complement eBay including items like electronics, jewelry, office equipment, etc. There are also numerous new or virtually new items existing in large quantities which means less time adding items in eBay. For example, the latest live government auction I attended somebody purchased 11 ATM cash machines for $46 each that they sold for $468 a piece and someone else bought 51 watches for $400 which they auctioned off on eBay for a 700 percent profit.

So if you've never offered an item on eBay then I would suggest going to eBay and taking 10 minutes to set-up a free eBay membership (see link below) and entering in a fake item for sale (it's easy, follow eBay's guidance). You can go through the steps without finalizing and actually putting the item up for sale. This quick implementation will show you now painless it is to sell items on eBay.

Then visit the Government Auction Review Site below and check which government auction site(s) are the best sites to find government auctions and items listed at each (online and live auctions). Once you are comfortable with a government auction site that has access to near unlimited items, then sign-up with that site.

Now all that is left to do is simply search for online government auction items and/or to go a local live auction. Then purchase the sharply discounted items of interest and place them for sale in eBay to make a healthy profit. eBay's world wide audience now has access to observe and buy all of your products.

Congratulations, you have just consummated what will prove to be a very profitable work-from-home career.
