Interested in leveling a mage? It's tons of fun playing as a mage and being able to lob volleys from a distance.
If you happen to be new to the whole class and want a little de-briefing before you start, I'll go over a few early game tips that should get you off on the right foot:
-Once you start on your quest of leveling a mage, you'll find you have 2 spells to start with, Fireball and Frost Armor. Make sure you keep the Frost Armor on all the time since that will give you 30 extra armor and work to slow down enemies that hit you.
-Upon reaching level 2, you will pick up Arcane Brilliance, this will increase your intellect by 2 for 30 minutes. Make sure you keep this on at all times along with your Frost Armor, the mage is very buff dependent.
-When you hit level 4, you will gain access to Frostbolt, you'll also gain the conjure water spell. This will allow you to generate your own mana potions so you never have to buy them again!
-Now that you have Frostbolt, make sure you start all your attacks with that first so you can slow the enemy down, after that, finish him with Fireballs.
-Once you're level 6 you'll have Fire Blast which is a new instant cast spell to play with. It's a good idea to save this for instances where the enemy gets too close to you, mages go down fast when they're ganged up on in close quarters.
-Upon reaching level 6 you will also get the spell Conjure Food which will allow you to create health regenerating food.
At this point in the game youll be getting close to reaching your races main city and have access to upgrading your armor and equipment.
